Terry Fox Run

Terry Fox Run Information

This year Killam Public School will be participating in the 2022 Terry Fox School Run on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. We will have a whole school assembly at 10:15 AM, and then, as a school, we are walking or running the course around Killam. All students will return to school by 11:53 AM for lunch. The permission form (included in the Blanket consent form) needs to be returned to the school by Friday, September 22, 2023.

Terry Fox, at the age of 18, was diagnosed with osteogenic sarcoma and was forced to have his right leg amputated. Determined to help others suffering from cancer, he decided to run across Canada to raise funds for cancer research.

Today, the Terry Fox Foundation funds a variety of different cancer research projects. We are proud to work with the Foundation towards Terry’s vision of ‘a world without cancer’. We also look forward to encouraging our students to ‘Try like Terry’ by fostering his values of determination, courage, perseverance and compassion. With your support, we will continue to make a difference in the
fight against cancer.

Donation can be made online to our KPS page here.

All online donations of $20.00 or more are automatically receipted, cutting down on the Foundation’s administrative costs and leaving more funds for life-saving cancer research.

Thank you for your support!
